Go-go-Guerlain!

A while back, I'd read an article in Allure about powdered kohl liner. I was intrigued, then forgot all about it. Last month, I was doing my Fall trend shopping on Sephora. It was super-sample bag time and I was trying to fill up my cart to get the free shipping as well as my free gifties. I started adding a bunch of red lipsticks to my bag when I stopped cold. I have several great red lipsticks. I don't need another one.

I decided to go for the other part of the fall trend - smoky eyes and big lashes. I got the Sephora false lash placement kit. As I kept searching through the eye makeup, I saw it. Guerlain's Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl. I immediately added the Noir to my cart and submitted my order.

I love everything about this stuff - excellent quality, super hot packaging and it's easy to use (after some practice). You can apply it the Western way by dipping a clean, moist eyeliner brush in the powder and line your lids as you would with a liquid liner. I prefer to use it Eastern style. Take the applicator wand that comes with the product, dip it in the powder, then put the tip of the wand at the inside corner of your eye. Close your eyes gently on the wand and draw it to the other end of your eye. It will line both your upper lid and your lower lid at the same time. It's super-sexy and stays on forever.

The first few times you do it, powder will invariably sprinkle on your cheeks or get on your upper lid. Resist the temptation to wipe at it with your finger because it will make an unholy mess. I keep my bare escentuals I.D. On the Spot eye makeup remover swabs handy. They clean up the excess powder quickly and really are the only things I would put that close to my eye to get the liner off at night.

I love the loose powder kohl so much in Noir that I just ordered the turquoise. I can't WAIT to try it!
